Refrigeration Worker

Refrigeration workers install, maintain, repair and overhaul residential, commercial and industrial air conditioning, environmental and security systems. They use computer software to adjust and calculate loads and welding equipment to cut and connect piping systems. They also recharge systems with refrigerant gases.

Apprenticeship—5 years, including 840 hours of in-school technical training. Upon successful completion, refrigeration workers receive a provincial Certificate of Apprenticeship, a provincial Certificate of Qualification and the inter-provincial Standard Examination (Red Seal) endorsement.
