Electrical Worker
Construction Electricians follow blue prints to lay out, assemble, install and test electrical fixtures, apparatus and wiring, electrical systems in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. These systems provide power for heat, light, air conditioning and refrigeration. Electrical workers also install and connect electrical machinery, electronic equipment controls, signals and communications systems.
Apprenticeship— 4-years, 7,200 hours (local 213 - 9000 hours). Upon successful completion, electrical workers receive a provincial Certificate of Apprenticeship, a provincial Certificate of Qualification and the inter-provincial Standard Examination (Red Seal) endorsement.
