What does CITI do?
The Construction Industry Training Institute is sponsored by the B.C. & Yukon Territory Building and Construction Trades Council. The Council represents 15 construction trade unions.
CITI:
- engages in training partnerships with employers, labour organizations, Aboriginal groups and government
- provides advice on training methods and opportunities
- identifies funding options for training from provincial and federal government programs
- advises the provincial government on the need to develop new programs, improve provincial training curriculums and protect standards in trades training
- promotes the advantages of careers in the trades and helps young people, students and others gain access to apprenticeship training and facilities
